Can you give us a little sneak peak of your top 3 must-try recipes that the new book features? I was hooked on orchestrating and helping and breathing with everyone. People started to feel better, heal themselves, and get empowered. My background in dance and eastern arts started to craft a system of easy going natural movement that started to work incredibly well in helping people ignite their relaxation response while moving through simple and challenging moments alike. It started with a class in Central Park and a goal to help people feel good and connect to themselves. With a successful yoga studio in New York City and workshops and teacher trainings the world-over – how did Strala come into tuition? My goal was simple, to evolve a system of yoga to help people connect to themselves (and not to a guru) so they can take ownership and responsibility and get excited about self care. There were a couple of yoga studios and not everyone was in them. I saw a problem when I moved to NYC in 2000. What was the catalyst that inspired you to become a yoga teacher and all-round healthy living advocate? What does being fit and healthy mean to you? “If I’m at the W,” Stiles told us, “Almond milk and cookies!” Sometimes it’s fruit and champagne, or sometimes just fruit.We spoke to yogi queen, Tara Stiles on running her successful business and how she stays healthy and happy. Here Stiles ate noodles at a sweet restaurant in Tokyo after days of intense travel and teaching. It’s as easy as it looks: salad ON toast! A life without indulgence is a life without joy.” Here, Stiles shares with Sonima a sample of what she eats from morning to night. “Living healthy, eating well, and being radiant from the inside out has nothing to do with depriving yourself. It’s simple and easy, it doesn’t sacrifice taste, it simply embraces joy. What Stiles eats every day is not so far-fetched for the average person living in America today. And worse yet, we begin to think of ourselves as failures.” In the end, the path toward wellness is actually quite simple. “When following someone else’s rules leads us further away from ourselves we start swimming in dangerous territory,” she writes. “We chase the external and grasp at the next best thing that never lives up to its promise.
